WitchNotes

A seven-part harmony extravaganza

First of all you need to know that WitchNotes is Grace Notes and The Witches of Elswick singing together. These women boast a huge range of experience - but some have 30 years more of it than others!

On offer is fresh interpretation of a stunning range of traditional songs, plus their pick of contemporary material - from writers as diverse as Sid Kipper and Sidney Carter.

The seven sing together with glee and total unity of purpose, yet the quality of each unique voice is retained in the overall sound. The occasional, beautiful interjection of a song by just 2 or 3 of the group members adds yet more to the rare dynamism of this act.

The secret is out (it’s hard to keep it under your hat when you’re ‘baht’ on Ilkley Moor) and they are a great find for any festival.

“By the end of the evening the hair was standing up on the back of my neck and I was buying doubles for anyone who would let me”

Joel Griffiths, Tykes News
